Founded as a small venture company by Toru Kobayashi and three associates in 1979, OPTEX GROUP began with a focus on far-infrared technology. Researching applications for military and space development, the Company was convinced that this technology had many possibilities. Determined to play a role in creating a safe, secure and comfortable society and industry, OPTEX GROUP went on to develop sensing, lighting and fundamental technologies. Over the years, it has steadily inreased the range of products and services it offers to customers.

									Optex Co., Ltd., currently Optex Group Co., Ltd., is founded.

									Optex Co., Ltd. develops and releases the world’s first automatic door sensor using far infrared rays.

									1985
									Optex Co., Ltd. develops and releases Japan’s first wireless security sensor equipped with a solar panel.

									1986
									Optex Co., Ltd. develops and releases Japan’s first lighting system with a built-in motion sensor.

									1994
									Optex Co., Ltd. develops and releases the industrial first sensor for plastic sheet shutters.

									1994
									CCS Inc. releases the industrial first flat LED lights and ring LED lights branded as the LFL Series and the LDR Series respectively.

									Optex Co., Ltd. develops and releases the world’s first water transparency measuring system.

									CCS Inc. develops and releases the industrial first high intensity LED spotlights branded as the HLV Series.

									Optex FA Co., Ltd. develops and releases the industrial first all-in-one vision sensors branded as the CVS1 Series. 
 It wins many different prizes chiefly in the food industry.

									CCS Inc. develops and releases the industrial first flat dome lights with light guide and diffusion plates, branded as the LFX Series.

									Optex Co., Ltd. develops and releases Japan’s first sensor system that performs image recognition to prevent entry of any unauthorized intruder following an authorized person.

									2009
									Optex Co., Ltd. develops and releases a security laser scan sensor that identifies the size, speed and distance of an object from the sensor. 
 It wins numerous overseas awards.

									2010
									Optex FA Co., Ltd. develops and releases the industrial first sensing LED lighting, which monitors lighting intensity to automatically keep the brightness at a constant level. Subsequently, the company expands the lineup.

									2015
									Optex Co., Ltd. begins offering a series of services, from simplified water quality measurement to cloud data management to embark on a cloud-based solution business.

									2016
									Optex Co., Ltd. develops and releases vehicle detection sensors for coin-operated parking facilities which do not require work for burring loop coils.  
- 
									2017
									Optex Co., Ltd. develops and releases an automatic door sensor that takes advantage of image technologies to accurately identify the speed and direction of human movements. 
 It wins the highest prize of the Director-General of the Manufacturing Industries Bureau in the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in the KENTEN Award.

									Optex FA Co., Ltd. develops and releases the CDX Series of laser displacement sensors boasting the world’s highest accuracy based on the best of its expertise in displacement sensors.

									2019
									Optex Co., Ltd. develops and releases OAM-EXPLORER,a shutter sensor which can be easily configured and checked using a smartphone app. It gains entry to the European and North American markets by applying technology developed in Japan.

									2021
									OPTEX launches OMNICITY, the industry's first sharing service that uses automatic door sensors with our beacon-equipped sensors to match automatic door owners with smartphone app-using service providers.   CCS Inc. has developed and released the OLB-LT Series, the industry's first OLED lighting for inspection with a bendable light-emitting surface. 
 Pursuing brightness and high uniformity for use in inspection applications to further expand solutions.
