Our company has established and complies with the following basic policy regarding the protection of personal information.

1. Making protection of personal information well-known throughout the company
Our company shall, in addition to following laws and regulations regarding personal information, guidelines set out by the Japanese government, and other regulations, establish a management system for the handling of personal information, and make sure that all of our officers and employees are made aware of the importance of protecting personal information.

2. Acquisition and use of personal information and disclosure and provision to third parties
Our company shall, when collecting your personal information, make clear to them purpose of collecting the information, and shall only use the acquired personal information within the scope of the disclosed purpose of use. In addition, our company shall not disclose or provide your personal information to third parties unless we have received the required prior consent or are otherwise permitted to do so by applicable laws and regulations.

3. Management of personal information
Our company shall implement the necessary and appropriate security management measures to prevent unauthorized access, leakage, loss, destruction, and falsification of personal information. Furthermore, in the event that we disclose or provide personal information to a contractor or third party, we shall thoroughly manage and supervise them and require them to comply with relevant laws.

Handling of Personal Information

2. Definition of personal information
Personal information acquired by our company is, as defined by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, information that could be used to identify a specific individual, such as full name, date of birth, telephone number, e-mail address, home address, workplace, information on inquiries placed by the individual, individual identification code, etc.
Provision of personal information to our company shall be based on your judgment. However, please be aware that, if the information is not provided, we may not be able to provide the appropriate service.

3. Purposes of use
Our company shall handle personal information to the extent necessary to achieve the following objectives. Furthermore, should a situation arise wherein we are required to use the acquired personal information beyond the scope of the purpose of use, we shall obtain the consent of the customer in advance.

  • (1) Performing administrative work involving the rights and obligations of shareholders in accordance with the Companies Act and other laws and regulations, and implementing various measures to facilitate relations with shareholders
  • (2) Providing investors with overviews of our company’s business and financial results as well as information pertaining to briefings and other events

  • (4) Providing information to and communicating with applicants for employment, and engaging in selection procedures, hiring procedures, and the like
  • (5) Responding to other inquiries, requests for consultation, and other requests
  • (6) Performing duties related to personnel management, pension and labor insurance, welfare benefits, and the like for our company’s employees and others
  • (7) Procedures, information, and communications regarding payments to retirees

4. Disclosure and provision of personal information to third parties
Except in the following cases, our company shall not disclose or provide your personal information provided to us to any third party.

  • (1) If required by law
  • (2) If it is necessary to protect the life, health, or finances of a person, and acquiring the consent of the person him/herself is difficult
  • (3) If it is especially necessary for public health or the health and growth of a child, and acquiring the consent of the person him/herself is difficult
  • (4) If, cooperating with the national government (etc.), acquiring the consent of the person him/herself poses a risk of impeding the execution of the work in question

5. Outsourcing to third parties
Our company may outsource all or part of the handling of personal information to our customers, contractors, and other business partners to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use. In such cases, we shall properly manage and supervise such business partners in accordance with laws, regulations, and our own rules.

6. Sharing of personal information
Our company uses personal information jointly to the extent necessary to achieve the purposes of use.

7. Security management
We take the following organizational, personal, physical, and technical security management measures to prevent unauthorized access, leakage, loss, destruction, and falsification of personal information. In addition, we retain personal information only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes for which it is used.

Measures taken for security management

  • ・To ensure the proper handling of personal information, we have established the Basic Policy on Protecting Personal Information.
  • ・We have established and are applying regulations on the handling of personal information with regard to methods of handling and management of personal information.
  • ・We have appointed a person responsible for protecting personal information and established a system for protecting personal information.
  • ・Regarding leaks and other unfortunate incidents involving personal information, we have entered a written pledge with employees and others not to disclose information obtained in the course of their work (including personal information) not only during their employment with us, but also after they leave our company.
  • ・We take measures to prevent unauthorized access to and removal of personal information by implementing physical measures, for example ensuring that media including personal data are stored under lock and key and creating seating assignments for employees and others in areas where personal information is handled.
  • ・For some types of information, we take measures such as restricting access, acquiring access histories, and encrypting data, and have introduced a framework for protecting information systems from unauthorized access by outsiders.
  • ・When storing personal information in foreign countries, we implement security management measures after developing a full understanding of those countries’ systems for protecting personal information.
